About 2-3 years ago it got so bad that people didn't want to pick up their phones because there were so many scammers. Thanks to you guys and our government disconnecting suspicious phone calls as soon as we pick up its been about 2 months since i got a scammer call. Thanks for all those helping.

Your work in highlighting scammers in call centres in India also highlights an important issue - most of the victims of these scammers are in America and Europe, using products that later on turned out to be sub-standard, that were sold to them in those countries and required them to call a call centre in India for “technical support” “customer service” or similar - with the growth of online stuff since the 1980’s and especially since Covid, where “bricks and mortar” stores are being closed down, why are governments around the world allowing big corporations to “outsource” these services? If a product is sold to customers in the US for example, that company must be made and legally obliged to ensure that all of the “customer support” should only be located in the US and not redirected via online or otherwise to Indian call centres - I’ve been living 23 years in the U.K. (and I notice the similar things happening in my native Ireland, as all of the big tech companies are all HQ’d in Ireland) and between phone services and ISP’s all have Indian call centres despite selling to a U.K. customer base - any problems, a U.K. engineer is sent out at £25 added onto a bill in India, via their call centre, but that same U.K. engineer is still not allowed by the system (even if he lives locally) to come out and fix that problem for free, the justification being online security, same applies to U.K. shops with certain bits of hardware and software - same with my last U.K. mobile phone contract renewal, I had to speak to “customer support” via a call centre in the Philippines, even though I’m a U.K. customer - I’m trying to change my U.K. broadband contract but the ISP’s “customer support” is based in India (and there is a significant language and cultural barrier) - the point is, this practice should be banned, because it is leaving people vulnerable to scammers in Indian call centres, at a scale far worse than the Nigerian 419 email scam a few years ago - it’s no wonder that my grandparents generation were so against computers/internet and mobile phones before they passed in the 1980’s as they knew that it would lead to our current situation

You are absolutely correct. For these scams to work, someone usually has to be in this country to send them the cash. Almost all of the people who do this, know exactly what they're doing and why, but the money made is worth the risk. I see these type of 'mule jobs' advertised everywhere, but mostly on employment websites. I even received one in my spam folder TODAY, and when you read it, it's more than obvious that it's illegal. No one would pay you that much for virtually doing nothing.
